Quick update

Wow it has been awhile since I last posted anything. I have tried putting recent pictures up, but for some reason the computer is not recognizing my camera so I will have to try again later to put new ones up. So to update, things are going well. We are under 100 days!!!!!!!! So needless to say we are ALL excited to get to see our soldier again.

The girls had fun on Halloween. We were able to walk around with our friends so that made it so much fun. Trinity was Thumper and Zoey was a disco girl. They were both so cute. They both got a lot of candy and we are still eating it. Now we only have to get past the birthdays and it is on to Thanksgiving. We will most likely be hanging out at our friends' house for the day so it will be fun for everyone.

Trinity is looking forward to her birthday party at Chuck E Cheese and of course can't wait to open her gifts. Hopefully I can get the camera and computer to cooperate to put some pictures up for everyone. Then it is on to Zoey's big day. In only one short week I will be the mother of a 10 year old! I can't get over how big they are both getting. I had their pictures taken yesterday and when Zoey got hers done I cried. Something about seeing her with a "10" behind her just got to me. She is looking so grown up all of a sudden. Okay before I start crying again, Zoey is having her party after Thanksgiving so I will post pictures of that later as well. They are both doing really well and are ready for daddy to be home with us again.

So I will end for now with a final note, Richard is doing well and has started the return process for their return. We look forward to seeing him in under 3 months!

Love to all,
Naomi

Something exciting!!!

Well there is not really anything new to report as of right now, but I did want to post that something exciting happened this week for us. Zoey got glasses!!!! Okay so not earth shattering news, but exciting for us:) She has actually been asking for them for a few years now (for those that have them already know they are not THAT exciting, but hey she thought they would be cool) and at her eye exam Monday we found out she would be getting them. She picked out the cutest pair and she is really excited to have them. We were able to pick them up yesterday so she wore them to school for the first time today. I thought you might enjoy seeing her in her new specs:)

This is her self portrait from after we ordered them. You can see how excited she is to be getting them:)

Here is the one I took of her. She looks so cute.

Thought I would also post some more pictures that were taken recently of the girls. Things are going well. We have about five months to go before the unit returns so if we can just make it through the holidays we will be good! Our friends from Germany are in the area now so we are excited to have them nearby. Zoey was so happy to have her friend around again.

Trinity and her baby watching Dora on TV.

Zoey and her best friend, Haley

Waiting for Trinity's ballet class to start

Here is our new puppy as well. We ended up trading Buddy for Ivory because he was a little hyper for our family and we all sort of fell in love with Ivory the minute we saw her when we went to visit Buddy. We were able to bring Ivory home after we returned back from our trip. She is a white Cocker Spaniel/Poodle mix. She is the sweetest thing ever and has no worries what so ever.
She was sleeping on Trinity's bed during nap time:)

We wish everyone a wonderful weekend.

Naomi and girls:)

Okay so I am finally able to post some pictures from our trip. It was really nice getting to see everyone and while we hate leaving, it is great being back in our own home again. This will just be a picture post so hope you enjoy.

There are a ton more pictures, but I am sure you do not want to be bored by my posting all of them so I will stop here. Hope you enjoy them:)

Back to school time!!!!!

Well I am now the parent of a 4th grader and I am really not sure what to think of that. Zoey does not seem old enough to be in 4th grade yet!!! We had a nice trip back from Indiana and made it back in time to meet the teacher at school. Zoey has a really nice teacher and I think they will be a good match for school this year.

Does she look excited or what?

Getting her desk ready. She was getting tired of me taking pictures of her by now:)

My babies before school

School so far is going well and after today Zoey will be able to see her best friend Haley again! She is so excited. I will post pictures as soon as we have a chance to visit with them.

July 2008

I have been terrible with updating this, but things have been crazy busy. We are currently in IN visiting family and friends. We are loving this trip and hope it does not go too fast:) I will have to post pictures when we get back to TX as I have no pictures on this computer to post any. I will have tons to add when we get back home though.

Things are going well for all of us. Richard is working a different job now and seems to be doing okay with it. He is "stationary" more now so I am thankful for that. He seems to be okay with this new job although I am sure he does not always like staying inside. Zoey will be starting the 4th grade on August 25th and will get to see her best friend Haley in September!! We are all very excited to see our friends from Germany again. Trinity is doing well and has enjoyed having her big sister home all the time since summer school ended. She absolutely loves hanging out with her sister:) I am doing better. There have been tough days for me, but of course I have managed to stay strong through them and have gotten better.

I will do my best to post again before we leave IN, but not sure if I will have time again:) I will post pictures next month when we get back home.

Our summer so far.....

I wanted to send out an update on things and post some new pictures for everyone to see. Things are going okay. Zoey is in summer school right now, but she is doing well with it. We are hoping this will help her with the state test that has been giving her trouble. Both girls are enjoying time together once Zoey gets home in the afternoon. They have actually been hanging out a lot. Trinity loves to follow her big sister around:) Last month Zoey decided that she wanted to get her hair cut. So I thought you might to see some pictures of that.

Before She does not look happy, but she was getting tired of waiting

After It looks really cute:) She likes it a lot and loves that it is easier to take care of.

The girls have been enjoying the weather and have been playing in the water almost everyday. This was a day that all the kids had a water balloon fight. Of course Trinity loved this! If only I could get her to like getting her hair wet in the bathtub:)

I love the sprinklers!!!!

Finally able to enjoy our new pool. We had to wait a while to get the permission to put it up, but once we did it was no time to put it up. We are loving it.

Zoey with her soccer trophy. The team ended the season with only one loss, their final game. It was a great season for them and she was glad she played.

The church had a children's Sunday a couple months ago and all the kids did a wonderful job on it that the children's leader set up a chance for the kids to sing for the people of the local nursing home. The kids did a good job entering the residents. Trinity is not old enough to sing with them, but she wanted to be up there with her sissy so they let her join in as well. She actually had a good time and knew parts of a few songs so she did really well.

Hope you are able to enjoy this "concert". I will add a few more from that day again soon.

I think that is all for now. Not sure when I will be able to put up new pictures again. Trinity dropped our camera so I had to send it away for repairs so it will be a little before we get it back. I will post as soon as I can though. For those who have not heard already, the girls and I will be heading up to Indiana the middle of next month for a few weeks. Hope to see a lot of you then:)

Love,
Naomi and girls

Update

I just checked in today and saw that it has been over a month since I last posted anything! So now I have to see if I can get things updated some as well as posting some pictures of the girls.

Zoey has been playing soccer and has been doing really well. The team has won all their games and we have two left for the spring season. Zoey seems to be enjoying it and has gotten better with each game and practice. Here is a picture from her first game of the season.

Zoey's team is the one in the green/blue.
Our future soccer star!

Richard and I had our 10Th wedding anniversary last month and while he was not here to help me celebrate it was still a nice day. We were able to have a visit from my grandparents on their way back from Arizona for a couple days and that was great. We had not been able to see them in a long time so it was great visiting with them.

Zoey and Trinity with their great grandparents.

The girls loved having them here and had such a good time. Trinity has turned into a Grandpa's girl from her visit with grandpa Goris so she was ecstatic to see grandpa great. She is still asking about her grandpa's.

I love my grandparents!!!

Richard was able to send me flowers for our anniversary and I got some really pretty earrings as well that he picked out. He is so sweet. Even from thousands of miles away he still made me feel special on our day.

The end of last month we became the owners of a new puppy. Zoey has been wanting a puppy for a few years now and she finally talked her daddy into getting one for her. It is a Pomeranian and he is about 10 weeks old now.

This is Buddy, our newest family member

Trinity had her last ballet class last week. She had so much fun. I can't wait to get her in another ballet class, but the instructor on post is moving away for a year and most off-post centers don't offer ballet for little ones yet so we might have to wait until she is three to get her in another class. It was fun for her and she did so well.

Trinity is on the right. This is at the beginning of class when they do their stretching.

The girls after the class with their new shirts from Miss Erin.

So I think that is an update for now. Summer is almost here and we are ready for it I think. The girls and I will be making a trip to California for the Fourth of July. We will be meeting Nicole and Sophia in Phoenix and continuing the rest of the way with them. We look forward to seeing them again as well as the Baker Family for a few days. It will be great to get away from the base for a mini vacation. I am still not sure if we are going to be coming up to Indiana this summer, but I will be sure to let everyone know as soon as I decide. There are a few issues that we are still dealing with that might not be worked out until later so we have to see. Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend and enjoy all the family time you can get. We miss you all.

Love,
Naomi and the girls

Happy Spring! Family time together!

Okay so some of you might be wondering why I have not posted anything new in a while. Well if you did not already know it was because Richard was home on leave! So family time took priority over everything else during his time here. I will try to update as best I can though to fill in the last couple of weeks.

Welcome Home!

Everyone was so excited to see him.

To start Richard came in on March 16. That worked out great because Zoey had Spring Break the 17th-21st so he was able to be here for break. We had not really planned to do anything during break since we did not know when he was going to be in so we decided just to go to San Antonio. Zoey had wanted to go to the Alamo so we figured we could check out SA. Well it was a great trip. Not bad for not really having anything planned or anything. We left for SA on the 18th after ballet lessons and got back on the 21st in the evening.

Zoey standing across the street from the Alamo entrance. A rather neat building, but smaller then we were expecting:)

While we were in SA, we also visited the Ripley's Believe It or Not!, Wax Museum, the Guinness Book of World Records, and the zoo as well. They were all neat exhibits and we had a great time.

The girls loved the elephants. Trinity was not sure until Zoey got close then she knew they were okay to be near:)

Not sure how accurate the Shirley Temple was, but Zoey had to be in front since so many thought she looked like her when she was little:)

Once we got back to base things were pretty normal. We had a good Easter and even though we had to make a run to the ER for Trinity and missed the sunrise service we were still able to attend the normal service that day. The girls hunted for eggs later that afternoon. Here is a pic of the girls in their Easter dresses. They were too cute!

While he was home also we moved Trinity into a "big girl" bed. Of course daddy had to get her a new bed and sheet set to go along with it:) Trinity absolutely LOVES her new bed. She has been doing really well with staying in bed for naps and such and I have only had a few troublesome days with her getting out right after she is put in there for naps and bedtime. But mostly she is doing well with having it.

You can tell she is happy about her new bed:)

Aside from leave being short, we had a great time having him home with us. I was lucky enough to have him home for my birthday so that helped a little with my "leaving my 20's behind" and embarking on the next adventure "30 somethings". Richard and the girls went shopping for my gifts and then we all went out to dinner. It was a nice birthday even if I am not happy about turning 30. We were even surprised by a visit from his father on the 1st so he was able to spend time with us as well. It was great having him here and being able to see Richard before he took off again and the girls just loved having grandpa here for a few days.

Zoey took this of me with one of my gifts. It was a fun day.

Well Richard had to head back on the 4th so that was not the greatest day for everyone. The girls and I were able to stay with him at the gate so that helped a little that we got some extra time to spend with him. He, unfortunately had a canceled flight in Dallas that night, so while we did not get to see him we were able to call him at the hotel to talk to him. I just was not in the mood to make the drive up there. We both knew how hard it would be on everyone again to go through the "good-byes" so it was best that we did not see him again. We know the days have gone pretty fast so far, so I am hoping they will continue to go by so that we can be together again soon. I think that is everything that has been happening for us here. I hope that all of our family and friends are doing well and is having a great spring. I will try to keep this updated more often now that things are getting back to "normal". Continue to keep the troops and the families in your prayers for a safe quick return. One last picture before I sign off.

My beautiful girls at the San Antonio Zoo.

We have a future ballerina? Maybe!

I just wanted to post a few pictures of Trinity at her very first ballet class. It was a rather small class I guess, but maybe next time their will be that are there. Trinity was not sure what to do and the other two girls there were not really interested in doing anything that did not require them to be sitting with their mom. So because of that, Trinity was a little more reserved then she usually is with new things. Hoping she will be more comfortable next week when she has lessons again. Here are some pictures I thought you might like.

She was checking things out first to be sure it was okay.

This was her after she did a somersault. She was very proud of herself. The other girls did not want to do one.

They were dancing around in circles just before class ended.

She was patiently waiting for her sticker at the end of class.

On an exciting note, leave is coming soon!!! I will post new pictures of him soon. So all is going well with us here. Spring has arrived and everyone is doing well. Trinity is getting over a cold and pink eye so she is better. Zoey is feeling good now and has been doing well. Her first state is done and she thinks she did well so now we wait and see. Spring Break has begun so we look forward to spending time with Richard and just relaxing next week.

One last picture of the girls before I sign off.

Naomi
